Chililabombwe hospital construction almost complete

THE construction of Chililabombwe District Hospital on the Copperbelt at a cost of K9.7 million has reached an advanced stage with 95 percent of the works having been completed.
District commissioner Stuart Chitumbo said once completed, the  hospital will bring public health services closer to the people, who have been accessing such services in Chingola.
Government has engaged Jearmy Enterprise Limited to undertake the project.
“We have been depending on Chingola District Hospital, which has been expensive. The mine hospital is also expensive as most of the people cannot afford to access health services provided there,” Mr Chitumbo said.
He said Government is making positive strides in delivering quality health services to citizens regardless of their status in society.
The district commissioner said good health is a prerequisite for national development, and that the construction of hospitals across the country remains priority on Government’s development agenda.
Mr Chitumbo said Government is working tirelessly to build health posts in Chililabombwe to enable residents to have access to quality health care services.
“Chililabombwe District Hospital will provide better and quality health services to Chililabombwe residents,” he said.
He said the construction of the hospital in the district is a milestone towards attainment of equity of access to quality health services.
Mr Chitumbo said, in addition, seven health posts will be built in Chililabombwe out of the 650 being constructed country-wide.
