Chief Kanyama praises Lungu

LUNGU

BUTTYSON KANDIMBA, Solwezi
CHIEF Kanyama of the Lunda people in Mwinilunga district in North-Western Province has praised President Lungu for prioritising the growth of the agriculture sector in the country.
He said President Lungu’s decision to develop agriculture requires the support of all Zambians if the sector is to record meaningful progress.
Chief Kanyama urged President Lungu to ignore unconstructive criticism from some opposition political leaders aimed at making him fail to achieve his vision to grow the sector.
“I just want to commend the President for attaching great importance to the agriculture sector because to me this is our next economic mainstay as a country,” Chief Kanyama said.
He said in an interview from Mwinilunga yesterday that he had decided to lead by example and had set up a fish farm to encourage his subjects to start venturing into the business in his chiefdom.
“I am happy my people are already emulating what I am doing and so far there are about three fish ponds that have been constructed within my chiefdom by the local people here,” Chief Kanyama said.
