BoZ to introduce secondary market

THE Bank of Zambia (BoZ) is in the process of developing a secondary market for debt instruments to help investors sell off securities before maturity to provide liquidity.Currently, the central bank operates a primary market for treasury bills and bonds and investors have to wait for the securities to mature to get liquidity.
Bonds are long-term debt instruments with maturity tenures of up-to one year, five years, 10 and 15 years while treasury bills, which are short-term instruments have tenures from one month, three months and one year.
