BoZ should intervene in failed ATM transactions refund

Dear editor,
ON FRIDAY, February 8, 2019, I attempted to withdraw K2,000 from the automated teller machine at Lumbani Supermarket using a United Bank for Africa ATM card.
The transaction failed but I received the short messaging system (SMS) indicating that the money had been deducted from my account.
I reported the matter to UBA Kamwala Branch where I filled out a form but was told it could take either 14 days or 45 days to get my refund.
I think the central bank should provide leadership on this matter so that reversals are done timely where evidence has been presented, especially if the failed transaction happened within the city and metres between the banks.
I look forward to a timely reversal by UBA.
