Letter to the Editor

Birds uncaged

Dear editor,
YOU and me
Brown, black, white, or yellow

All born to be free!
Not to be fed to gallow’;
Or hanged on a tree!
Too much pain
In this steal pen;
Let these birds be uncaged
All more wars will be waged.
Some say F. Douglass was crazy,
Threw shackles in the master’s face.
Dad thought fine of the reverse;
To him Frederick was but brave.
You and me
Brown, black, white, or yellow
All born to be free!
Not to be fed to gallow’;
Or hanged on a tree!
