Battle of Siamese twins

WEDSON Nyirenda.

IN POLITICAL circles, Zambia and Zimbabwe, conjoined by the Zambezi River, have been called Siamese twins, but in the football world, their rivalry is as intense as you can find it anywhere.
The two will today renew that rivalry at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola when they meet in a semi-final match of a four-nation tournament.
Football fans like to call it battle of the Zambezi.
The rivalry is over 50 years old but this will be the 46th meeting between the two sides since 1980. In those meetings, Zambia has had an edge, winning 16 and drawing 20.
