FORMER President Edgar Lungu deserves to be buried with full military protocols because he was a Commander-in-Chief, President Hakainde Hichilema has said.
The head of State stated that it is the duty of Government to bury the former President, who died a year ago in South Africa, with dignity, adhering to military traditions.
Mr Hichilema made these remarks during his speech at the requiem mass for the late Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV at Ephendukeni palace here yesterday.
The President emphasised the need to work together to lay Mr Lungu to rest.
Mr Hichilema was responding to Catholic Diocese of Chipata Bishop George Lungu who, in his homily, urged the Lungu family and Government to ensure that the late President is buried.
“It is our duty to bury him with military protocols. And I agree with you, we must all work together to bury our sixth President with dignity in the military style. Let us work together to do that,” the President said…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/
