Over 200 medals won in 2025

MINISTER of Youth, Sport and Arts Elvis Nkandu says Government’s investment in sport over the last five years has resulted in Zambian athletes winning medals on the global stage.
And Nkandu directed coaches to stop prioritising athletes from their clubs when selecting various national teams.
Nkandu said the performance of Zambian athletes has improved from the time the New Dawn administration was ushered in office in 2021 as evidenced by the number of medals the country has reaped.
He was speaking in Lusaka yesterday when athletes presented medals they won at various international competitions in 2025.Nkandu said athletes won 241 medals.
