MUFULIRA Wanderers coach Lameck Banda is eager to set the tone for the rest of the season by winning the second edition of the International Resources Holding Mopani Challenge Cup.
The off-season competition helps gauge the preparedness of the two teams.
The event also attracts junior teams Young Nkana and Young Wanderers and women’s sides.
In an interview yesterday, Banda, who was appointed as Wanderers coach last month to replace Tenant Chilumba, said
the tournament is important for the team’s preparations.
He said players are excited and each one of them is eager to lay their hands on the trophy.
“We have settled well. So far so good and the team is shaping up into what we want it to be. It will be good to win it so that we can set the tone for the season.
Starting with a win against Nkana will help us mentally and build the confidence,” Banda said.
He expects Nkana to be a hard nut to crack as they will be playing in front of a partisan crowd…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
