MTN Zambia has announced a unique way of celebrating 20 years of powering connectivity, driving digital transformation, and championing financial inclusion across the nation.
“In celebration of this incredible journey, and as a heartfelt expression of gratitude to the people of Zambia, MTN has officially launched its biggest-ever customer promotion — the ‘Thank You Zambia’ campaign, with over K10 million in prizes up for grabs,” a statement read.
The company made the announcement during the launch of the “MTN Thank You Zambia” dubbing it the ‘biggest-ever’ customer appreciation initiative.
MTN Zambia CEO, Abbad Reda, emphasized that this campaign is more than just rewards. “This 20-year journey is not only a celebration of how far we’ve come together but also a reminder of how much more we can achieve.”
Speaking with journalists during the launch in Lusaka, MTN Senior Manager, Brand and Communication, Dalitso Miti said the ‘MTN Thank You Zambia’ campaign aims to celebrate the company’s loyal customers, partners, and traders through community outreach and promotional rewards, reinforcing MTN’s role in Zambia’s digital transformation.
‘We have over K10 million in prizes, including bundles, MoMo cash, phones, laptops, a trip to Dubai, and a grand prize of K1 million. This is our turn to say ‘Thank you’ to clients that have walked with us in the 20 years we have operated in the country,” he said.
The firm further announced that it has made significant investments in information security and data protection measures aimed at shielding its Mobile Money (MoMo) platform users from rising cases of digital fraud and financial scams.
MTN Chief Consumer Officer Richard Acheampong said the company is working closely with the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) to curb online fraud and ensure the safety of customers’ digital transactions.
Over the past 20 years, MTN Zambia has expanded its network to all 10 provinces and launched its MoMo platform to enhance financial inclusion.
In terms of social responsibility, the firm has supported small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and contributed to health, education, and cultural development initiatives.
