NDOLA – Sierra Leone coach Amidu Karim has selected 25 players, among them 40-yearold striker Kei Kamara of Los Angeles FC in the United States of America, for two crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) qualifiers against Chad and Zambia.
Kamara helped Sierra Leone end a 28-year wait to be at the AfCON when he scored the solitary goal to beat Benin and qualify for the 2021 edition in Cameroon.
It was the first time Sierra Leone were qualifying for the AfCON since 1996 and Kamara announced his retirement from international football in 2022.
Kamara has scored three goals in 27 appearances this season for his club.
Sierra Leone are third in Group G with four points, three behind second-placed Zambia, while leaders Ivory Coast have nine with tailenders Chad on two.
Sierra Leone are away to Chad on Wednesday and host Zambia in Monrovia, Liberia, on November 19, while the Chipolopolo face Ivory Coast in Ndola on Friday…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
