8,000 UNZA students barred

ABOUT 8,000 students at the University of Zambia (UNZA) Great East Road main campus will not write their examinations on Monday for failure to pay tuition fees.
The affected students have been barred from writing the examinations by management for not paying their tuition fees.
According to a Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) news bulletin monitored last night, University of Zambia Students Union (UNZASU) president Jones Mwewa said only 16,000 students out of 24,000 students at the country’s highest learning institution will sit for their final examinations next Monday.
And Ministry of Higher Education permanent secretary Owen Mgemezulu confirmed having received the report and assured that Government would look into the matter soon.
