4 students caged over Chipata riot

POLICE in Chipata have arrested four students in connection with the riot on Monday at Chipata Trades Training Institute.
Eastern Province commissioner of police Lackson Sakala told journalists yesterday that the students were apprehended on Tuesday.
Mr Sakala, who could not divulge the names of the students, said property worth K200,000 was destroyed during the fracas.
He said the four are cooperating with the police and that officers are closing in on other alleged masterminds of the riot.
“Four students have been detained in connection with the riot at Chipata Training Institute which happened on Monday,” he said.
