MUSICIAN Madalitso Phiri, popularly known as Dalisoul Mwana Wamu Komboni, has pledged to become a road safety ambassador after being fined K800 for driving without a valid driving licence.
Appearing before Lusaka magistrate Moffat Phiri, the musician admitted the charge and expressed regret for his actions.
“I regret the offence,” Phiri told the court, stating that he would ensure his driving licence is valid and always in order, while committing to champion road safety awareness and compliance with traffic laws.
Claims are that on April 27, 2026, around 23:00 hours, Phiri drove a Nissan March bearing registration number BAB 5514 ZM which collided with a motorbike along Mosi-oaTunya Road in Lusaka, without being a holder of a valid driving licence, contrary to the Road Traffic Act.
The incident happened opposite Puma service station and involved inspector Kwibisa Mbuye, 39, who was riding a Zambia Police Service BMW motorbike.
Inspector Mbuye sustained minor injuries and was rushed to Maina Soko Medical Centre for treatment, while the police motorbike suffered extensive front-end damage.
Inquires indicated that he allegedly cut in front of the oncoming police motorbike, resulting in the collision.
Following his guilty plea, magistrate Phiri convicted the musician and fined him K800…. https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
