Arnold Kaluba heads LAZ

LAWYER and lecturer Arnold Kaluba has been elected as Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) president, after pledging to foster unity and a member-centred leadership during campaigns.
The new Kaluba-led LAZ council was ushered in following the successful conclusion of the 2026 annual general meeting and elections held in Livingstone on Saturday.
Mr Kaluba, who replaces Lungisani Zulu, pledges to continue strengthening LAZ, empowering its members, and advancing the legal profession in Zambia.
The Rhodes scholar and managing partner at Arnold Kaluba and Associates was successfully elected after polling over 1,000 votes.
During campaigns ahead of the general assembly, Mr Kaluba had pledged to strengthen the council’s leadership through unity of purpose.
Mr Kaluba will be deputised by Sonia Shamwana, the newly elected vice-president.
Misozi Masengu takes up the role of honorary secretary, while Womba Kankondo continues as honorary treasurer.
The newly elected council members are Mehluli Batakathi, Limose Tembo-Tindi, Francis Daka, Mulenga Sholomo, Mary Mwansa, Tifwepo Musukwa, Kennedy Mambwe, John Ngisi, Chibeleka Nkobali, Timmy Munalula, Makesa Kalifungwa and Njavwa Sinkamba.
