PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema is saddened by the death of 18-year-old University of Zambia (UNZA) student Emmanuel Bwalya on Tuesday.
The head of State has called on all students to remain calm and to respond to this moment through dialogue, with restraint and the shared resolve to find lasting solutions.
Mr Hichilema said Emmanuel was a young Zambian with a bright future ahead of him.
“His loss is truly a tragedy; a tragedy for his family, his fellow students, and to the nation at large,” he said.
President Hichilema expressed profound condolences to Emmanuel’s family, the entire UNZA community, and all those who knew him.
He has asked Zambians to keep Emmanuel’s family in their thoughts and prayers.
“Let this be a moment when we come together with a shared commitment to resolving the challenges facing not only the University of Zambia, but all higher learning institutions and colleges,” Mr Hichilema said.
“No further loss is acceptable.
No family should ever receive this kind of news again.”….https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
