Kasama victory due to delivered promises – HH

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says the United Party for National Development (UPND)’s victory in the Kasama mayoral by-election reflects Government’s commitment to delivering on its promises to the Zambian people.
And Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security Jack Mwiimbu has announced that Government has allocated adequate funds in the 2026 national budget to ensure effective policing of the upcoming general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the President, Special Assistant to the President for Political Affairs Levy Ngoma said the new dawn Government has been deliberate in implementing the development agenda, with a clear focus on inclusivity and ensuring that no citizen is left behind.
Speaking in Kasama after the UPND candidate, Bywell Simposya, won the seat on Friday; Mr Ngoma said the outcome of the by-election demonstrates growing public confidence in the UPND’s governance approach.
“This victory is a clear indication that the UPND government is fulfilling its commitments to the people through tangible and peoplecentred development,” President Hichilema said.
He said the win will further motivate the Government to accelerate the delivery of visible and meaningful development, particularly in Kasama and other parts of the country.
The Head of State said the Government remains committed to advancing inclusive development without any form of segregation, as it works to improve the welfare of all Zambians.
