TWO co-wives have been found with a case to answer for allegedly attempting to bribe police officers to secure the release of their incest-charged husband.
Yesterday, Lusaka magistrate Anna Vomvas Holland said a prima facie case had been made out against the accused persons to warrant placing them on their defence.
The court has since set February 10, 2026 as the date for commencement of their defence, which gives them an opportunity to exonerate themselves.
The two women, whose lawyers are Phelim Sinyangwe and Jimmy Mwaanga, are charged with corrupt practices, allegations they have denied.
The housewives were initially arrested with their third co-wife, who later died while in detention before appearing in court.
Accusations in this case are that on April 4 last year, the two women corruptly offered K4,808 gratification to a public officer as an inducement to secure the release of a person in custody….https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
