Access Bank Zambia has new CEO

ACCESS Bank Zambia has appointed Iheanyi Nwogu as its managing director and chief executive officer following approval by the board of directors and the Bank of Zambia.
Prior to his appointment, Dr Nwogu was Access Bank Zambia deputy managing director for public sector and wholesale banking.
He subsequently assumed the role of interim managing director in October 2025.
Dr Nwogu will leverage his wealth of experience to steer Access Bank Zambia towards achieving its resolve to become the leading financial institution in Zambia by 2027.With over 22 years of banking experience, Dr Nwogu has been part of the Access Bank Group since 2005, serving in various leadership roles across the continent.
This is contained in a statement issued by Access Bank Zambia head – corporate communications and brand management Kalumbu Nyikosa-Kearns.
Access Bank Zambia board chairperson Anne Sampa described Dr Nwogu as an exemplary leader.
“His exemplary track record, deep understanding of the banking landscape, and unwavering commitment to excellence make him the ideal leader for this next chapter,” Ms Sampa said.
