THE Zambia United Local Authorities and Allied Workers Union (ZULAAWU) says President Hakainde Hichilema and the New Dawn administration will go down in the history of the country as having put premium on grassroots development.
ZULAAWU president Emmanuel Mwinsa said in over four years, the enhanced CDF has proved to be a game-changer, transforming communities.
“We want to indicate that under the New Dawn administration, the country has seen real transformation in communities because of the CDF. The jump from K1.6 million in 2021 to K40 million this year per constituency is not a joke.
“We need to give kudos to this administration which will go down in the history of the country of having cared for its people, especially the vulnerable,” he said.
He said previously, development in communities stagnated because little money that was channelled towards development.
Mr Mwinsa said with the decentralisation policy in effect, communities now have the Brother kills brotherLUSAKA Water Supply and Sanitation Company (LWSC) workers constructing a sewer line along Kasama Road in Chilenje Township on Sunday. He pledged the union’s support to the New Dawn administration in its endeavour to transform communities through the enhanced CDF.
“As the labour movement, what we want to emphasise on is for the players in the local government sector to ensure transparency in the area of handling of CDF.”
And Chasefu Member of Parliament Misheck Nyambose said the New Dawn government has shown its love for the people through increased CDF.
Mr Nyambose said with such progressive policies, no meaningful citizen can think of voting the UPND administration out.
“To ensure more development in communities, let’s continue supporting this President and his government because they mean well,” he added…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
