Govt aids flood-hit farmers in South

GOVERNMENT will give farmers almost 20 tonnes of maize seed and more than 6,700 bags fertiliser as compensation for the damage caused to crops on over 840 hectares of farmland by the flash floods.
Southern Province Minister Credo Nanjuwa said an estimated 846 hectares of land has been damaged by the flash floods, which also ravaged houses in parts of the province.
“The total hectares affected is 846 hectares in the Bweengwa and Hamusankwe areas in Monze.
“So we are expecting to provide 1,692 early maturity seed, which is the 10kg bags, and also 3,384 D-compound fertiliser and 3,384 top dressing fertiliser….https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
