DECLARING that love is his shield, President Hakainde Hichilema has called on Zambians to set aside their differences and embrace love as the foundation for national unity and development.
The President called on his political opponents to appreciate the gesture of love he has continued to show them, despite receiving hostility in return.
“We use love and care for our people to conquer hatred.
Those who are insulting us, we use the shield of love. No matter how long they insult, we don’t respond; I simply put love in front. Shield, shield,” President Hichilema said.
Speaking at a public engagement in Choma yesterday, Mr Hichilema said he offered himself to serve the country out of love, which people have now come to believe.
“Even the opposition in their blankets know that HH loves them. Because of that love, we will continue caring for your welfare and your development. Where there is love, there is care. Let’s love and care for each other.
When we love each other, we care for each other, we work and deliver,” he said.
The President said his Government has demonstrated love and care by introducing free education and providing school desks for children.
“The same people insulting me, their children are benefiting from free education. When they are giving me hatred, I am giving them love,” he said.
Mr Hichilema acknowledged that practising love and care is not easy, but insisted it must be done.
“We are demonstrating that love by delivering for you. Out of love for children, we employed teachers,” he said.
He added that his Government has shown love to traditional leaders by constructing modern palaces fitted with solar panels, and to women and youth by enacting Constitutional Amendment Act No. 7 to increase their participation in Parliament…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
