KANCHIBIYA Patriotic Front Member of Parliament Sunday Chanda says opposition presidential hopefuls lack alternative economic plans to rival the governing party’s agenda.
Mr Chanda observes that the opposition is fragmented, with overlapping messages and limited policy details.
He notes that while some candidates criticise Government for neglecting socio-economic issues and hint at alternatives, most proposals are broad and uncosted.
However, Mr Chanda acknowledges that these articulations indicate a growing recognition of the need for credible, evidence-based alternatives beyond criticism.
He said while a few opposition figures are beginning to offer more substantive policy commentary, Zambia still lacks a detailed, costed and widely supported alternative economic blueprint.
He noted that for the electorate, the defining question ahead of 2026 should not be who shouts the loudest, but who presents a credible, evidence-based plan to transform the economy.
