Govt launches Vision Zero campaign in transport sector

GOVERNMENT has launched the Vision Zero campaign in the transport sector and the Zambia Country Profile on Occupational Safety and Health 2025, with a call to citizens to embrace the culture of safety. 

Vision Zero is a global initiative developed by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and International Labour Organisation (ILO) to promote a culture of prevention at work. 

The Vision Zero campaign for the transport sector in Zambia is under the theme “Towards zero harm in transport”. 

Minister of Labour and Social Security Brenda Tambatamba said the transformative campaign commits to eliminating transport related fatalities and injuries. 

Ms Tambatamba said no loss of life on the transport network is acceptable, whether it involves passengers, drivers, pedestrians, motorcyclists, or cyclists.
