Presidents Hichilema, Boko honour ZCA with 3 top awards at agric show

It was a landmark moment at the 97th Agricultural and Commercial Show yesterday as President Hakainde Hichilema and President Duma Gideon Boko of Botswana jointly presented three prestigious awards to Zambia Chinese Association (ZCA), marking three years of China Pavilion’s participation in the showgrounds.

ZCA was honoured with three prestigious awards: the “Best Representation and Innovation Award” recognising the pavilion’s exceptional curation and meaningful engagement, the “Platinum Sponsor Award” for its strategic support of this year’s event and also the “Best Motor Trade Exhibit” in recognition of its standout automotive showcase.

The awards underscored not only ZCA’s impact, but the enduring strength of China-Zambia relations in a regional and continental context.

President Boko toured the pavilion during his official visit to the showgrounds. The visit underscored the pavilion’s growing influence as a regional hub for innovation, trade, and international exchange.

Organised by ZCA, the pavilion continues to push boundaries with future-forward exhibits in renewable energy, smart agriculture, electric mobility, and industrial tech.

Of which all aligned with the 2025 show theme: “Adapting to Climate Change: Innovation and Partnership for Sustainable Development.”
Celebrating three years at the show, ZCA’s rise from an active participant to a cornerstone contributor has never been more evident.

From two Presidents on the ground to three awards in hand, Saturday was not just a win. It was a full-circle moment of pride, presence, and progress.
