Faith gets K100,000 bail

JOURNALIST Faith Musonda has pleaded not guilty to idling and misconducting herself at Community House and was yesterday released from detention after being granted K100,000 bail pending trial.
On July 2 this year, police arrested the 41-year-old communications expert on allegations that she stormed Community House, which is President Hakainde Hichilema’s private residence, around 01:00 hours.
She is alleged to have driven to the New Kasama residence in a Toyota Fortuner.
Police nabbed the former broadcaster and charged her with idle and disorderly persons, an offence attracting a fine, up to a month imprisonment, or both.
Yesterday, Musonda, clad in a white attire with a black top, was brought to the Lusaka Magistrate’s Court by investigators.
Covering her face with a blue surgical mask, the accused was seen carrying a Nicholas Spark’s authored novel, which she read while waiting for her case to be called.
Allegations are that on July 1 this year, Musonda, of Lusaka’s Rockview, Chalala, is said to have publicly conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.
After principal resident magistrate Irene Wishimanga read the charge, the seemingly downcast accused, in a low tone, pleaded not guilty.
The housewife’s lawyers Charles Changano and Maluza Chongola immediately applied for her bail pending trial….https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
