YELLOWSTRIPE Resources lifted the trophy after edging Toyota in a thrilling final held when Stella Artois hosted six teams for an exciting tournament that created a perfect environment for music, fashion and sport.
Cold Stellas, fast horses, and Zambia’s style crowd came together at Leopard Hill for the third annual Stella Artois Zambia Polocrosse Open — an event that’s fast becoming a symbol of modern African
luxury.
“Since 2023, Stella Artois has been a proud supporter of this exceptional event not just because of the elegance and excitement of the sport, but because Polo Cross embodies many of the same values that our brand holds dear: refinement, passion, heritage, and unforgettable experiences,” said Mwila Matoka, marketing manager, Stella Artois Zambia.
With renowned DJs sharing sets, the weekend confirmed why polocrosse is now the country’s sport of choice for tastemakers and influencers alike.
The venue was home to big wins on the field, a sunset cookoff, and laidback social energy.
The atmosphere was set for audiences attuned to fashion, food, music, and travel,
underlining polocrosse’s growing appeal as a lifestyle statement as much as a sporting spectacle.
Now firmly fixed on the social calendar, the two-day tournament drew both crowds — and the attention of leading Zambian influencers.
Faith Tembo, Alina Karimamusama, Rochelle Daphne, Yamfwa Chisanga, Kasia Kasia, and Walton Six teams – Yellowstripe Resources, Toyota, Butcher Block, Galaunia Farms, Tiffany’s Canyon and Beta
Blocks – thundered through round robin clashes before Sunday’s showpiece final, where Yellowstripe Resources edged Toyota in a fiercely contested decider.
Saturday served up the everpopular Potjie CookOff, fusing culinary rivalry with community spirit as guests continued connecting and creating moments.
DJ Ralph Goveia and Game of Tones dialled up the tempo later in the day, turning Leopard Hill into an openair dance floor where guests toasted The Life Artois late into the night.
Sunday eased into a mellow rhythm.
Spectators lounged in the shade, Stella Artois chalice in hand, while the championship unfolded on the field and live acoustic sets floated across the grounds — a fitting finale to a weekend that balanced raw competition with relaxed elegance and stylish, Stella branded polo shirts.
“This partnership has given us the opportunity to not only celebrate the timeless beauty of the game but also to bring people together to connect, to enjoy, and to savour life’s most rewarding moments.
And that, at its core, is what Stella Artois stands for,” Ms Matoka said.
She said the Stella Artois Zambia Polocrosse Open has cemented its reputation as an unmissable annual fixture, where the country’s stylish set gathers to play, cheer and raise a chalice to modern African luxury.
