‘Allow nation to mourn Lungu with dignity, honour’

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) has appealed to the conscious of Patriotic Front (PF) to allow the nation to mourn former President Edgar Lungu with dignity and honour.
Party secretary-general Batuke Imenda says it is unfair to Mrs Lungu and the entire family for PF to engage in what he termed as “zero sum game”.
“We urge our colleagues to rethink their position and allow Government to carry out its functions regarding the funeral.
“This is no time for politicking or seeking to gain some political mileage over a solemn function such as this one,” Mr Imenda said.
In a statement yesterday, Mr Imenda said the governing party regrets the divisive stance taken by PF over the funeral of Mr Lungu.
“It is shocking that the PF leadership came up with [a] parallel funeral programme. This offends all known norms.”….https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
