METAL Fabricators of Zambia (ZAMEFA) Plc has recorded an increase in revenue of over K1.77 billion for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, up from K1.39 billion the previous period due to the higher copper prices.
The company’s higher revenue generation in United States dollars (USD), which combined with the depreciation of the Kwacha against the greenback, contributed to higher local unit revenue for the period under review.
According to the financial results, the gross profit for the current period increased by 0.74 percentage point compared to the gross profit of the comparative period.
“The main reason for the difference between the rate of growth in the revenue and the rate of growth in the gross profit is the pass-through effect of higher copper prices…,” the report reads.
During the period under review, the operating profit decreased to K77 million, which was eight percent lower than the same period last year, due to the effect of the depreciation of the Kwacha against the dollar on dollar-denominated operating expenses and inflation.
