CB UPND launches door-to-door mobilisation campaign

UPND on the Copperbelt has launched a grassroots mobilisation team dubbed the ‘2246 underground mobilisation door-to-door campaign’ that seeks to garner support for the organisation and President Hakainde Hichilema.
President Hichilema has donated a Toyota Hiace bus to the team to support its mobilisation efforts.
UPND Copperbelt provincial chairman Elisha Matambo said the group should bolster the ruling party’s structures, ensuring they are robust and ready for the August 2026 general elections.
Speaking during launch of the team in Ndola’s Kabushi on Sunday, Mr Matambo, who is Copperbelt Minister, said the group should be practical in its mobilisation by explaining achievements of the New Dawn administration.
He said the 2246 team, along with other party structures, worked tirelessly in 2021 and played a central role in UPND’s electoral success.
Mr Matambo wants the 2246 team to mobilise over 300,000 people in the coming months to achieve more support for UPND and President Hichilema.
He said President Hichilema has also donated two motorbikes to Mushili and Dag Hammarskjold areas in Ndola to enhance membership mobilisation.
2246 national chairman Jonathan Kanyungulu said the team’s objective is to engage with communities directly through door-to-door interactions to drum up support for President Hichilema.
