THE Lusaka Magistrates Court has ordered that jailed social media influencer Elias Musyani should be presented in court, where he faces fresh cybercrime-related allegations.
Principal resident magistrate Idah Phiri made the order yesterday when she learnt that the accused was not present in court.
“Tell the arresting officer that I want the accused, without fail,” the magistrate told the prosecutor, Lewis Loti.
In this case, Musyani, alias John Wick, is jointly charged with Steven Nyirenda, an administrator for High Profile Official Facebook page.
The two are charged with harassment utilising means of electronic communication, an offence under section 69 of the Cyber Security Crimes Act 2 of 2021.
In count one, claims are that on February 7 this year, the duo, using a computer system, intentionally initiated an electronic communication on High Profile Official Facebook page.
The online communication was allegedly intended to coerce, intimidate, harass or cause emotional distress to Lucy Shawa, a journalist.
