CHIEFS in Central Province have pledged to support President Hakainde Hichilema in next year’s general election.
Senior Chief Muchinda, of Serenje district, said traditional leaders in the province, including Central Province Council of Chiefs chairperson Chief Chibale, are prepared to work with President Hichilema to bring development to their chiefdoms.
Chief Muchinda said the traditional leaders want President Hichilema to continue governing the country.
The traditional leader cited the construction of Luombwa Bridge as one of the projects the New Dawn administration is undertaking, which is beneficial to the community.
“As chiefs in Central Province, we are happy and ready to work with the President,” Senior Chief Muchinda said during the commissioning of Luombwa Bridge constructed at an estimated cost of K7 million.
“Mr President, we are pledging our support in the 2026 general election. God bless you, we will support you. We are your people.
