Corrupt rich must get stiffer punishment – HH

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has called for review of judicial reforms to ensure corrupt people serve longer jail sentences than those who commit lesser offences.
The President has also challenged officers at Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and other law enforcement agencies to sharpen their skills because they cannot fight corruption and other economic crimes without formal training in basic finance and accounting procedures.
Officially launching the second National Policy on Anti-Corruption, President Hichilema said the fight against corruption should not be misconstrued as a ploy to “kill” the Zambian spirit of entrepreneurship, and that legal businesses should not live in fear.
The President said Government will continue reinforcing the fight against corruption since it is a negative and destructive vice.
