Nzovu calls on banks to finance green projects

MINISTER of Green Economy and Environment Collins Nzovu has called on financial institutions to finance renewable energy projects.
Mr Nzovu also said there is need for a concerted effort in addressing the financial costs and gaps in climate adaptation.
“While we continue engaging with cooperating partners for support in addressing climate change as part of our multilateral process, it is critical that the private sector, including financial institutions, plays its part as well,” he said.
Mr Nzovu was speaking during the official opening of the Zanaco Climate Finance Symposium yesterday.
He said Zambia, like many African countries, is in dire need of climate financing.
