EASTERN Water and Sanitation Company has secured K540 million (20 million euros) from the German Development Bank (KFW) and European Union (EU) to replace the old water reticulation system in Chipata district, Eastern Province.
Funds from EU are for rehabilitation and expansion of water and sanitation infrastructure in the province.
Company managing director Aaron Mulinda said the project will include expansion and replacing old pipes to arrest water losses.
