KK didn’t resist wind of change – Chinkuli

FIRST indigenous Zambia Army Commander Kingsley Chinkuli says Kenneth Kaunda, who spent close to 10,000 days as President from 1964, did not resist calls for
the country to return to multiparty politics from one-party
state at the start of the 90s.
General Chinkuli, who went on to serve in Cabinet under the first President, says Dr Kaunda was eager to maintain peace in the country.
“I was Minister of Home
Affairs when the struggle for multi-partism was launched,” he said during an appearance on ZNBC’s Sunday Interview.
