Mufumbwe player kills colleague at camp house

A 24-YEAR-OLD footballer of North-Western Province Division One side Mufumbwe Marketeers has been murdered by his colleague while in camp.
The incident happened on Saturday around 23:00 hours in Zone A area in Mufumbwe township at Marketeers Football Club camp house.
Zambia Police Service spokesperson Rea Hamoonga confirmed the incident in an interview yesterday and identified the victim as Reagan Mayuke, 24, of Solwezi.
Hamoonga said the victim was stabbed with a knife by Lorrent Mahoma, 26, of Zambezi, after the two picked up a quarrel.
He said the matter was reported to Mufumbwe Police Station around 23:50 hours by Phillip Chirwa, 21, of Kashima, a player from the same club.
“The assailant picked a knife and stabbed Reagan Mayuke, who sustained a deep wound on his upper chest,” Hamoonga said.
He said the victim was rushed to Mufumbwe District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
