A 35-YEAR-OLD MAN of Mpongwe has appeared in Ndola High Court accused of brutally killing his 67-year-old father for ‘disturbing his sleep’
In this case, Collins Kalumba allegedly murdered his father, Brian Kalumba, on July 8 last year around 19:00 hours, using a stick following an altercation.
Ephraim Musukwa, 37, a general worker of Mpongwe, testified before Ndola High Court Judge Mary Mulanda that on the fateful night, he was returning to his house from a house of mourning when he heard his wife and the victim calling for help.
He recounted that his wife urged him to check on Mr Kalumba who was lying on the ground.
Mr Musukwa described finding Mr Kalumba with knocked-out teeth and a fractured skull.
He said while at the victim’s house, he saw Collins emerge from the bushes behind the house, where he was allegedly hiding.
“When I asked him about what happened, he said that he beat his father because he had a habit of troubling him whenever he came back from visiting his girlfriend, ‘Mary Chikalika’, at night,” Musukwa said.
He said crime prevention officers later arrived at the scene and took charge of the matter…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
