PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia will continue strengthening collaboration and promoting innovation because they are essential to growing the country’s mining sector aimed at creating more jobs and increase social protection for the people.Abu Dhabi-based International Resources Holding (IRH) Limited officially took over Mopani Copper Mines during a ceremony held in Kitwe and attended by President Hakainde Hichilema last week.
Under the agreement, IRH has acquired 51 percent shares in Mopani, with the Zambian government through ZCCMIH retaining the remaining 49 percent.
In an online message yesterday, President Hichilema said meaningful change is expected at Mopani following the engagement of a strategic partner.
