FIRST Quantum Minerals (FQM) Trident Limited is ramping up production of nickel at its Enterprise Mine in Kalumbila as it targets to produce between 10,000 to 20,000 metric tons (mt) this year.
FQM Trident Limited general manager Junior Keyser said about 250 permanent jobs and 750 contract jobs have been created at Enterprise since it was commissioned last year.
“So far, Enterprise operations [have] really been going on very well and we started towards late last year and this year the production is going on very well and we are heading towards commercial production by mid-2024,” Mr Keyser said in an interview yesterday.
