A GIRL believed to be aged between seven and 10 years, who was admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) intensive care unit (ICU) for head injuries on Sunday, has remained unidentified.
UTH public relations officer Nzeba Chanda disclosed in an interview that the girl, believed to be from Lusaka’s Chawama, was taken to the hospital casualty section by a well-wisher as she sustained deep wounds on the head.
Ms Chanda said the girl was weak and struggled to respond to tests though she went to theatre on Monday.
“Actually she is weak and the response is a bit weak, her conscious is weakening, but when they do tests, when they do touch, she is responding, but she is still sick,” she said.
Ms Chanda said the parents or guardians of the girl are not yet known as no-one has officially claimed ownership of the child.
She appealed to parents and guardians to counter-check at UTH for possible identification.
“The message to the public is that there is this girl aged between seven and 10,” Ms Chanda said. “We are working with Chawama police, also the Misisi police as well as the Central police over the case.”…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
