South gets 100 mt white maize

TO AVERT the prevailing hunger situation in Siavonga, Southern Province, Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) has provided the district with over 100 metric tons of white maize.
Siavonga District Commissioner Geoffrey Jakopo says the intervention by Government will save many people from starvation following the prolonged dry spell which has affected the entire area.
In an interview, Mr Jakopo said the New Dawn administration is doing its best to assist people in the district by giving them aid which will soon be availed.
He said the district administration has arranged transport to ferry the 111 tons of relief maize to needy areas.
