India increases Zambians’ scholarships under ITEC

THE Indian government has increased the number of scholarships for Zambia to 258 slots from 76 under the India Technology Economic Corporation (ITEC) for civilians and military personnel to enhance their skills.
And Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati said over 6,000 young people have applied in technical education, vocational and entrepreneurship training (TEVET) institutions for bursaries to be trained in various skills.
Indian High Commissioner to Zambia Ashok Kumar said his government has increased ITEC scholarships for civilian slots from 70 in 2015 to 170 and defence scheme from six to 84 during the same period.
