Help attract FDI, Mweetwa urges

LUSAKA – Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says Zambians living abroad must help attract the much-needed foreign direct investment.
Mr Mweetwa, who is minister of Information and Media, says Zambians living abroad are Zambian flag carriers who should ensure that the good image of the country is portrayed at all times.
He says it is important for those working abroad to look out for available opportunities and best practices to make Zambia better.
Mr Mweetwa was speaking in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, according to a statement released by first secretary for press and tourism at the Zambian mission there, Inutu Mwanza.
The minister said this during a dinner hosted by Zambia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Rose Sakala for the Zambian delegation that participated in the 37th Ordinary Summit for Heads of State and Government.
And Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima participated in the 2024 Africa Business Forum organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa on the margins of the summit.
