SYNGENTA has launched two products called Victracto and Vaniva for treatment of nematodes and key fungal diseases.
Nematodes occur as parasites in animals and plants or as freeliving organisms in soil, fresh water or marine environments.
Fungal diseases and nematodes affect crop yields, especially in maize, soya beans, cereals and potatoes.
Speaking during the launch of the product, Syngenta managing director head of East and southern Africa Given Mudenda said the two products have been launched under the Tymirium initiative.
Mr Mudenda said the Victracto brand is for the treatment of nematodes in maize, soya, cereals and potatoes while Vaniva is for tobacco.
“In agriculture, the unseen threats posed by nematodes and soil-borne fungal diseases can have devastating consequences.
Often, farmers are unaware of nematode problems until it is too late. The lack of visibility has been a persistent challenge in our industry,” he said…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
