ZRA reveals plan to hit K125bn target

ZAMBIA Revenue Authority (ZRA) has outlined key strategies to help it meet its K125.3 billion revenue target for this year.
The tax authority is this year expected to collect K125.3 billion, higher by 111.1 percent from last year’s K59.4 billion.
Speaking at the 2024 budget symposium held last week, ZRA Commissioner General Dingani Banda said the authority has rolled out the piloting of the smart invoicing, which will help to seal leakages in revenue collection.
He said the system will also improve administrative efficiencies, which will enable the authority to execute its mandate.
Mr Banda said ZRA has also come up with an export proceeds tracking framework and is working closely with the Bank of Zambia in implementing it to improve tax compliance.
