POWER Dynamos chief executive officer Gibson Chaloba has called for thorough investigations into the alleged match-fixing and victimisation of whistlemen and women that led to the suspension of Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) referees manager Aziph Banda.
Chaloba said the development is unfortunate and hopes the investigations yield lasting solutions to poor officiating.
Chaloba said concerns were raised by various clubs regarding the poor standard of refereeing and the impact it has had, with Zambia failing to have representation at major tournaments like the Africa Cup of Nations.
He said it is a concern which necessitates introspection within the football community.
“While it’s unfortunate that the referees manager has been suspended, the reality is that he is the man in charge of the referees.
There could have been a better way of handling the matter, but if FAZ has evidence that he is the one to be investigated, we will support that and a better solution should be found,” Chaloba said…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
