Kennedy Mweene cites Chipolopolo failures

Players should be told the truth if they are to up their game

CHIPOLOPOLO legend Kennedy Mweene says inconsistencies in players’ selection and slow start in all the three matches cost Zambia progress at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AfCON) in Ivory Coast.
And Mweene says players should be told the truth when they don’t play well if they are to up their game instead of sugarcoating wrongs.
In an interview with Bola News yesterday, the 2012 AfCON winning goalkeeper said Zambia were eliminated early because they got it wrong from the start.
“I always said we don’t have a starting 11 in our national team.
The line-ups change every now and then and you saw even at the Nations Cup, different players each game.
The only players who were there most of the time, I think, it was at the back,” he said.
“It was Stopilla Sunzu, Frankie Musonda and Lawrence Mulenga.
Those are the only ones who were there in all the three matches. The rest we were changing. I think that also doesn’t show a lot of consistency when the opposition are profiling you,” he said.
