Ndola groups get K2m grants

NDOLA City Council has disbursed grants worth over K2 million to more than 100 groups in Kabushi constituency using the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).Kabushi Member of Parliament Bernard Kanengo says the monies disbursed to 109 cooperatives of youths, women and communities are worth K2,162,200.
“We urge all members of the cooperatives to ensure the funds we gave them are utilised wisely for intended purposes ranging from poultry, welding, village banking, meat processing, restaurants, tailoring, mobile money trading to salaula [secondhand clothing businesses],” he said.
Ndola District Commissioner Joseph Phiri said, “Government is proud of the wonders that are being implemented under CDF in various communities.”
Mr Phiri said the district administration is also monitoring and inspecting CDF beneficiaries to ensure that the money is used for intended purposes.
He said President Hakainde Hichilema does not condone misappropriation of resources that are meant to benefit communities.
