Geingob death: HH says ‘we have lost liberation icon’

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia commensurates with Namibians and is praying for them as they mourn President Hage Geingob, whom he described as a liberation icon and senior African statesman.
The President said in a statement on his Facebook page yesterday that Government is saddened by the news of the passing of Dr Geingob, who died yesterday morning in Windhoek, Namibia.
“We have lost a true friend, a liberation icon, a distinguished diplomat, a senior African Statesman, and an elder brother, and at this time, our thoughts and prayers are with his widow, madam Monica Geingos, and family, the Namibian people, and the entire African continent.
“May his soul rest in peace,” Mr Hichilema said.
